NAMOR brings sustainable wastewater research to European Researchers’ Night in Thessaloniki

The NAMOR project recently participated in European Researchers’ Night in Thessaloniki, Greece, an initiative taking place across Europe to bring science and research closer to the public.

The event offered NAMOR an opportunity to present its work on wastewater treatment, water reuse and resource recovery to a wider audience, while making the scientific concepts behind the project accessible and engaging.

Particular attention was given to the role of microalgae and other microorganisms in developing more sustainable water management solutions. Visitors had the opportunity to learn how wastewater can be viewed not only as a waste stream, but also as a potential source of valuable resources, and how biological processes can support a more circular approach to water use.

The interaction with visitors highlighted strong interest in sustainable environmental technologies and demonstrated the importance of connecting scientific research with society.

By participating in European Researchers’ Night, NAMOR contributed to raising awareness of innovative approaches to wastewater management while encouraging greater understanding of how research can support the transition towards more circular and sustainable water systems.
