NAMOR Partners on the spotlight: OPERON
What is your organisation’s role in the NAMOR project?
OPERON‘s role consists of four main things:
-
Taking part in design of the pilot plant in Finland
-
Taking part in design of the operative conditions and procedures of the pilot plant in Finland
-
Taking part in operation of the pilot plant in Finland
-
Providing knowledge of market and end-user needs for decentralized (/centralized) water treatment, mainly in Finnish context.
What do you expect to be the key benefits that the NAMOR project will deliver?/OR According to you, what value does NAMOR bring to water management in Europe?
Key benefit for us is to be able to follow and investigate novel ways of treating water, meaning more cost efficiently or in a more sustainable way. For water management in Europe, the main benefits from our end are similar. We are curious to see whether new technologies are developed which can be taken in use within the existing market, or which can be developed into scalable products within the existing market.
How have the first months of the NAMOR project been for OPERON so far?
We have found them interesting and valuable. There seems to be very competent consortium combining their knowledge and resources to develop water treatment in Europe. A key strength is that it includes groups widely across the Europe geographically, which makes it possible to develop Europe-wide solutions for water treatment.
