NAMOR Project Showcases Innovative Wastewater Solutions at International CSRW26 Conference in Thessaloniki
The NAMOR partners from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) successfully participated in the 2nd International Conference on Circularity, Sustainability, and Resilience in Water (CSRW26), held from March 29th to April 1st, 2026.
Representing the collective efforts of the NAMOR consortium, Dr. Nikoletta Solomakou, Postdoctoral Researcher at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), delivered a compelling oral presentation detailing the project’s latest advancements in sustainable wastewater treatment.
The presentation, titled “Growth Performance and Nutrient Removal of Microalgae Cultivated under Suspension, Immobilized and Encapsulated Systems in Synthetic Wastewater,” highlights a core pillar of the NAMOR Project: the development of nature-based solutions for a circular bioeconomy.
The research presented is the result of a rigorous collaborative process between AUTh and the wider NAMOR team. By comparing different microalgae cultivation systems, the team has identified more efficient pathways for removing nutrients from wastewater, a critical step in preventing environmental degradation and promoting water reuse.
