One year of NAMOR

One year of shared ambition, collaboration and innovation, with 14 partners shaping the future of decentralised water treatment.

One year after its launch, NAMOR has grown into a closely connected international team working towards a common goal: making decentralised water and wastewater treatment more efficient, sustainable and adaptable. At the end of the project’s first year, the 14 partners from 9 countries met in Ljubljana to review the progress achieved, exchange experiences and agree on the priorities for the next phase. The meeting reflected the strong cooperation established across the consortium and the shared commitment to turning the NAMOR concept into a practical solution.

A central focus during the first year has been the preparation of the three demonstration sites in Greece, Slovenia and Finland. Partners have worked closely with the teams responsible for each site to characterize the selected water sources, identify and finalize the exact locations of the demonstration plants and define the specific technical and operational requirements of each case. These local conditions are central to the development of the NAMOR system, as the three sites represent warm, temperate and cold climatic environments. In parallel, the consortium advanced the system design, selected suitable microalgae species, refined the integration of its technological components and prepared the monitoring activities that will support the evaluation of each demonstration.

As NAMOR enters its second year, the work at the demonstration sites will become even more visible. The project is now moving from preparation and design towards construction, installation and operation. Partners collaboration efforts during the first year will be essential for the following demo systems testing under real conditions, while generating the knowledge needed to turn NAMOR into a practical, flexible and replicable solution for decentralised water management.
